BOSABO, the story of a workshop with an unique savoir-faire in France : Audouin family has been making clogs for 5 generations.
The great-grand father, Emile Audouin, digs and polishes until the contours of the clog emerge from the tree. His son Joseph took over production by settling in Saint-Rémy-en-Mauges (France). The mechanization of the 1920s pushed the doors of the workshops and settled the work of the clogmaker.
Nowadays, Joël (Joseph's grandson) and his wife Françoise are joined by their children - Alexis and Justine - to whom they pass on their passion and the importance of respect for the environment to preserve this beautiful legacy. For more than 125 years, they have maintained a craftsmanship made in France.
In case of wet spots on the leather, we advise you to moisten all the leather right after. Leave it to dry then wax the leather.
For wooden outsole, maintain it with a sponge and soapy water. Wood is a natural material : wood can absorb moisture. It is important not to expose the soles to the heat of a radiator or to leave them in full sun because the wood may split.

Wood and leather are manufactured in two separate worshops :
- wood : BOSABO is receiving beech logs from their region (west of France) in order to perform milling and polishing of the soles. They inject their own recyclable PVC (and phthalate-free). It takes 8 to 12 weeks between the first sawing of the logs and the end of the production of a sole. 2 to 4 people are working in this workshop.
- leather : BOSABO carries all the operations of cutting leather, stitching and assembling. Production time can be variable depending on the models, there can be anywhere from 10 to 60 different operations. 8 to 12 people are working in this workshop. BOSABO is only working with european tanneries from neighboring countries (Italy, Spa
