    Details

Amélie Pichard launched the ABAG in 2012. The first born of the maison has now become the brand’s icon. A true staple piece.

Made in a very limited edition each month, by a Portuguese family’s workshop, this classic piece is entirely moulded by hand through a process involving a piece of leather (or not) pressed against a wooden structure. With the help of a magnetic system, the case-shaped bag smoothly closes in one slick gesture.

A white cork square molded handbag with one adjustable strap. Interior flat pocket. Fully cotton lined.

    Dimensions : 9.1 x 7.1 x 3.54’

    Handle : 29.53’ (worn short) - 45.27’ (worn long).

Waxed natural linen (French origin) and lamb leather (European origin, tanned in Spain).

    Crocodile 100% light gold zamak.

    Made by hand in Portugal.

    Advice
Upon reception: do not waterproof your bag. The linen is waxed so it makes it less prone to stains or water damage, but take good care of it. On a daily basis: do not let water dry without wiping it after your bag was in the rain. To clean your bag, rub it gently with a clean soft cloth, use a cloth with a similar color so there's no risk of stain. If you have a stain, get in touch with a professional and don’t try to remove it yourself. When using hydroalcoholic gel, wait for the solution to dry before touching your bag. Good to know: To maintain your bag in good condition for years, don’t hésitate to send it to our partner cobbler for a pampering. Please contact us and we will put you in touch with him so that he can give you a quote.

Our waxed linen comes from a textile factory founded in 1835 in the North of France. Cultivating linen is respectful of the environment as this is a plant that only requires a very small amount of pesticides, consumes a lot less water than cotton and doesn’t damage the soil. The linen cultures of our supplier are in the North of France and Normandy. It’s the first factory that produces a 100% French linen. All the steps, whether it’s the harvest, the combing, the spinning, the weaving or the ennobling, are all done in France. Their first spinning factory is located in Haute Normandy, and specialises in the “au mouillé” process which allows linen threads to be incredibly thin. This innovation is a meaningful step towards the relocation of the French industry; it’s a know-how that had disappeared for twenty years. The spinning factory was the only missing link of this sector. The value chain is now totally controlled which allows for a total traceability and the optimisation of the environmental impact of the finished good. We wanted to create a waxed linen with them in order to give more longevity to our product. The coating (waxing) is REACH certified and makes the linen water-repellent.
