ABAG’s little brother, the BABY ABAG was born in 2017, with a handle.
Made in a very limited edition each month, by a Portuguese family’s workshop, this classic piece is entirely moulded by hand through a process involving a piece of leather (or not) pressed against a wooden structure. With the help of a magnetic system, the case-shaped bag smoothly closes in one slick gesture.
A square molded handbag made of green leaf from Alocasia Macrorrizia, with a handle and one adjustable strap in nappa leather. Interior flat pocket in nappa leather. The bag is fully cotton lined.

Outer material : leaf from Alocasia Macrorrhiza, cultivated and varnished without any modifications. The leaf is laminated to a mixed fabric in linen and polyester for a greater resistance.

The leaf “beLeaf” is a material extracted from the Alocasia Macrorrhiza plant, known also as the « Elephant ear » in Brazil, its homeland. The leaf is treated with organic oils to protect its surface, then it is varnished and lined with undyed linen mixed with polyester in order to keep its resistance and durability.
About 20 years ago, the Brazilian tannery Nova Kaeru has devoted itself to transpose her expertise on a tropical plant which is cultivated in reforestation areas. The patented invention comes from years of research and development and the company is still looking for a way to make a perfect technicality of the product without impeding its sustainability. At this time, the leaf is shipped in its natural shape with an organic oil treatment, without any modifications in order to keep its natural shadows and patterns. The organic oil treatment allows a protection of the leaf's surface in shades of green more or less contrasted. In fact the leave is conserving is unique nature, or colored for a more sophisticated effect. The organic waste from the production is composted and used as a fertilizer and treated wastewater used for watering plants. colors and finish For the moment 10 colors are availables, in 2 finishes: mat or patent.
Due to climate change acting very strongly on Brazil through numerous storms recently, the planting of the Elephant ears has been decimated, which delays the production of beLeaf.
